It has been just under a year since the last release on Futurepast Zine when the Vibration & Frequency compilation dropped. The new sister label Alternative Architecture has been taking centre stage over recent months with a handful of incredible solo EPs from our communities rising stars. Weapons of Disruption has now got our full attention, the technicoloured background and samurai sword on the front cover set the tone, this release means business. There is a healthy blend of electronic styles found within this 7 track release, just how we like it, starting with the smooth stepping sounds of Rawtrachs – Trial and Hollow – Wanderin’ (Anjin remix). Things start to go up a notch with Rondema – 3 Yard King as the breaks start rolling in and Krytikal then takes the spotlight with my personal favourite Katana followed by 2 wicked remixes. Chemist RNS blends eastern flavoured sounds with his heavy hitting signature 140 drums for Krytikal – Tachi (Chemist RNS remix) and we are taken up to the higher tempos with Krytikal – Tachi (Sun People remix), packing an energetic half-time stomp and relentless bassline, this one is guaranteed to get the dance floor moving! The final piece of the puzzle is Rawtrachs – Awake & Transcend (Wooda remix) where Wooda draws us into his dark and futuristic dimension. A few weeks back during our event at the Hare & Hounds, he transported us from Room 1 straight into another realm, everyone there will remember when he dropped this remix in that legendary set!
